The work and the working relationship
Britt joined PostSharp Technologies when it was just me and helped manage the transition from an open-source project to a commercial company. Britt built an amazing community program and propelled me onto the world stage. Britt is a real marketing professional with a real understanding of the developer tools industry. And so fun to work with!
I had the opportunity to work closely with Britt at Particular Software across a wide range of marketing initiatives, from campaigns and developer marketing to metrics and strategic planning. One of the things I appreciated most about working with Britt was his ability to transform what could easily become a one-time effort into a repeatable process. We collaborated to improve our webinar production process, ensuring it could be executed consistently regardless of who led it.
Additionally, we focused on automating our email marketing and running A/B tests to improve how we followed up with leads as they moved from initial familiarity to awareness and engagement. Our collaboration also went beyond campaign execution.
We worked together to review our Developer Education metrics and applied the Wardley Doctrine to examine our operations, identify gaps between our organizational philosophy and actual practices, and create a more systematic way to prioritize improvements and follow through. Britt brings together strategic thinking and hands-on marketing execution, with a strong ability to build the processes and measurement needed to turn strategy into consistent action.
He brings a lot of experience to the table, shares it generously, and is a great partner to collaborate with across different areas of marketing.
I had the pleasure of working together with Britt for more than three years at Particular, and he is one of those colleagues who makes both the work and the people around him better. One of the first projects we collaborated on was a hosting webinar for developers. This was a new style of webinar for me to organize, and Britt patiently showed me the ropes. He brought knowledge and experience, but also humour and a very human way of working that immediately put me at ease.
That combination carried through everything we worked on together, from marketing metrics to an experimental account-based marketing initiative where we had the opportunity to test ideas and explore new approaches. Britt is thoughtful, dependable and genuinely collaborative. He is equally willing to roll up his sleeves and take on the unglamorous work that simply needs to get done as he is to bring forward new ideas and challenge the team to think about what could come next.
He follows through, contributes with humility, and makes time for people. What I appreciated most about Britt, though, was that our conversations were never only about the work. He cared about how I was doing as a person, and that kind of humanity matters. He is someone I trusted as a colleague and came to value as a friend. Any team would be fortunate to have Britt - not only for the depth of experience and professionalism he brings to the work, but for the kind of colleague he is while doing it.
I had the pleasure of working with Britt for many years at Particular Software, and what I appreciated most was the thoughtfulness he brought to every discussion.
Particular has never been short on experienced people with strong opinions. Yet when Britt spoke, you wanted to listen. He never seemed interested in speaking simply to have his voice heard. He listened carefully, took in different perspectives, and then offered an observation, question, or alternative that moved the conversation forward.
That ability came from a combination of experience, strategic thinking, and very good judgment. Britt could step back from the details, see the bigger picture, and often introduce an angle the rest of us hadn't considered. His contributions were measured, well thought out, and carried weight because you knew they came from experience.
Beyond that, Britt was simply a pleasure to work with. I have a great deal of respect for him, both as a professional and as a colleague, and I'd gladly work with him again.
I had the absolute pleasure of working closely with Britt at Particular for nearly 12 years, where we collaborated on several key initiatives across Developer Education and Customer Success.
Britt brings a rare blend of technical ingenuity and customer-first focus, consistently turning complex concepts into clear, engaging resources that genuinely empower users.
Beyond their impressive strategic execution, Britt is a fantastic collaborator—proactive, deeply thoughtful, and always raising the bar for the team.
Any organisation would be lucky to have Britt on board!
I've had the pleasure of working with Britt King for the past three years, and Britt is truly the kind of colleague you can rely on. A thoughtful, brilliant strategic marketing professional, Britt has a rare ability to look beyond conventional approaches and consistently bring fresh, valuable perspectives to the table. Analytical yet creative, strategic yet pragmatic, Britt makes a meaningful contribution to every project. I would recommend Britt without hesitation to any team.
Britt is one of the best coordinators in the development community that I know. He makes himself constantly available even when time zones could be an issue. His ability to learn new products and visualize the big picture in order to effectively utilize it in a production environment is impeccable.
Britt's knowledge of developers and the developer community attributed to the growth of online presence to a small software company, SharpCrafters, that build very complicated software to enable AOP support in .NET. Britt's continued focus on how developers think and on what they need contributed to the composition of a talented team of MVPs for the company, and in turn contributed to a greater understanding of not only how the SharpCrafters product line works, but how developers could make use of their products to ease their own development woes. Britt's knowledge of complex product marketing strategies and the developer's mind are one in a million, and his contributions to the visibility of a software product are valuable skills. If you want the community to understand the ways in which a software product will work and how it impacts the developer community at large, look no further, Britt's your man.
Britt is a savvy and persistent businessman who understands both developers and marketing. It was a tremendous pleasure to collaborate with him on various projects for PostSharp. It never felt like Britt was doing marketing or sales; it always seemed like helping developers like me solve problems was his main focus, and that's something truly remarkable.
Britt knowledge and understanding of the development community came to real help when Typemock was looking for someone who’ll increase our presence there.
I’ve been working with Britt on expanding our presence in different user groups and throughout the development community and Britt is the kind of guy that simply delivers.
He’s passionate about his work, dedicated to the goals set in front of him and above all that he shares that enthusiasm with the rest – whether the user group leaders, the participants of fellow partners.
Britt is a great asset to any company that is looking to expand her community presence, and it’s a pleasure working with him!
Britt King is the kind of person you dream about working with.
As the person responsible for outreach to software developers at JetBrains, Britt has always been there when my group, the SW Florida .Net Developers Group, needed him, and I've been proud (and still am) to call him a friend, now going on 4 years. I didn't 'hire' him, per se. But Britt stepped up for JetBrains at a critical time, and because he did, there are a whole lot of people in my community doing better work, faster, and are happier because of it. That's a service, Britt provided it for my group, and my Group is better because of it.
Because of his high integrity, exceptional generosity, and genuine interest in the success of my Group and many others, the Florida .Net dev community at large feels a tremendous loss with Britt's transition to bigger and better things.
But I'm happy for him, and I know that whatever he's doing now, someone's life is about to get a whole lot better.
